Every University employee involved in the process of handling cash is required to complete Cash Handling Operations, which consists of the following three modules:

  • Cash Handling I: Cash Handling Basics

  • Cash Handling II: Operational Procedures

  • Cash Handling III: Deposits

Format

The training consists of three web-based courses available via FAST.

To access the program:   

  • Sign in to myUK > Employee Self Service 

  • Click myUK Learning then select 'Click this link to access myUK Learning'

  • Click the My Learning tile 

  • Click on 'Go to Curriculum Status' in the My Curricula tile

  • Click on FAST Cash Handling Courses Curriculum Title to view the 3 courses in the curriculum

  • Click on the title of the course to launch the training

Timing

Each module is about 30 minutes in length. The modules must be taken in sequential order. Because they build upon one another, it is recommended the series be completed within a month's timeframe. 

Accountability

Each employee involved with cash handling is required to complete Cash Handling Operations training.

It is the responsibility of unit leadership to ensure employees are trained and comply with University policies related to the handling of cash.

Cash audits are conducted on a regular basis by UK Internal Audit and evidence of Cash Handling Operations training for each employee involved with cash handling is required as part of those audits. Lack of compliance with training requirements will be noted as a finding within the Internal Audit report.

Am I required to take the training?

How long will it take to complete each course?
