Recently, the university adopted its new Strategic Plan — a roadmap to propel the Commonwealth forward. The Finance and Administration Specialized Training (FAST) program is instrumental in ensuring greater trust, transparency and accountability — one of five key principles in the new plan.

We must demonstrate to each other and all those we serve that we will be responsible stewards of the resources we generate and those with which we are entrusted.  We have a fiduciary responsibility that we take seriously. This Finance and Administration Specialized Training initiative, with mandatory training for all business officers throughout our colleges and administrative units, demonstrates to our community that our financial operations are being administered in accordance with University policies and best practices. The initiative represents the first step in better coordination and consistency.
